I want to welcome you and thank you for being here.
I have had the privilege of growing up and building my life in Muskoka. Being surrounded by lakes and forests in this place I call home is what brings me calm.
As a settler on this land, I acknowledge and direct my gratitude to the Anishnaabeg people (Ojibwe, Chippawa, and Potawatomi Nations), who have been keepers of this beautiful corner of the world for generations past and to come. I also recognize the intergenerational legacy of colonization that continues to impact the lives of Indigenous peoples. My commitment to action is to create a space that celebrates the rich wisdom and strength of the traditional protectors of these lands while supporting ongoing healing, learning, and systemic change.
From the start of my career in 2019 as a social worker and therapist, I have set out to be a welcoming, gentle, and compassionate support for anyone who walks through my door. Having worked in the public mental health system for the past several years, I recognize that many gaps exist in accessing mental health support in rural Ontario due to stigma, transportation, and lack of specialized, affordable, and/or bilingual services. To my practice, I bring an anti-oppressive, trauma, and attachment-focused lens - combined with a variation of evidence-based therapies - to support the goals and needs of clients I have the honour of working alongside.
